We have had a busy first year so far defending public health care. Your enthusiasm and participation have been outstanding. Thank you!

We are holding the first Annual General Meeting of the Simcoe County Health Coalition (SCHC) on Thursday, December 7 at 7 p.m. via Zoom. This meeting is for existing and new Simcoe County Health Coalition members (medicare defenders), except for those in the Northern Simcoe Health Coalition which encompasses Midland, Penetanguishene, Tiny and Tay.

We will provide some brief updates and seek your input into the 2024 Annual Plan. We will put forth motions to adopt Executive Committee position descriptions and policies for the SCHC. Then we will hold elections for the positions.

WE NEED YOU!

You will see from the attached draft position descriptions we have a lot on the go. To maintain our commitments to our members and the Ontario Health Coalition, we need people to share their skills. Please consider running for election to one or more of the Executive Committee positions. If our Steering Committee meetings are any indication, you will find participation on the committee to be a fun and rewarding experience.

If you would like to put your name forward for any of the positions, please send an email to simcoecountyhc@gmail.com with your name, phone number and specify the positions. 

You may include an introduction to be shared with our members and on our Facebook group. Feel free to be creative! Share a photo or a video link – even a song – to let everyone know what makes you a good choice for the position(s) you seek. Tell everyone about specific skills or ideas you have. We will also accept nominations and brief speeches (less than 2 minutes) from the floor during the AGM, but we hope you’ll take this opportunity to reach out in advance. Submissions will be posted on the Facebook group in the order in which they’re received. Submissions received before December 5 will be shared with members in a reminder email before the meeting date.
